Small-scale Wind Turbine

2025 · NTNU · TEP4175 Design of a Wind Turbine

Two-bladed horizontal-axis turbine developed through airfoil screening, BEM optimization, QBlade simulation, PMSG matching and wind tunnel validation.

  • Compared low-Re airfoils and optimized blade geometry from rotor theory.
  • Matched aerodynamic torque-speed behavior with a hand-built three-phase PMSG.
  • Analyzed the CAD/manufacturing discrepancy through reconstructed QBlade models.

Manufacturing Process Design for a Geared Transmission

2022/2023 · Sapienza University of Rome · Tecnologia Meccanica

Production-cycle plan connecting transmission function, shaft sizing, functional surfaces, casting, machining and gear stamping/forging.

  • Sized the transmission shaft under combined bending, torsion and fatigue constraints.
  • Defined functional surfaces, fits, tolerances and roughness before process planning.
  • Planned casting, shaft machining and gear forging/stamping routes for the production lot.
